You are so correct. I am working on training myself to do 45 minutes of focused work. I got the idea from Dave Lakhani.

That's freakin awesome Jamie! I love that you've found it. It's amazing what will start to happen when you get to spend time every day practicing something you are not only good at but love doing. It'll open up new paths too. Let me know when the book is ready, would love to take a look.

Thanks for the continued encouragement Brian. I have finally honed in on what it is I was meant to do. I waffled for awhile after reading your book, but I know now that I am a writer. Now that I can see it clearly, people are getting on board right and left. In the last 90 days, doing exactly what you say in this post, I have written about 30,000 words (posted on my website), I have started a book and am about 15% complete, and have written a children's book that is currently being illustrated. Oh, and all while still working full time. I'm hoping that will be ending very soon. Focused, dedicated effort has made all the difference. I don't go a day without writing, reading, continuing to educate myself, working on my business, and maintaining my physical health. Just wanted to let you know that there are those of us who got the message. Keep up the encouragement, because it is always a boost!

I agree Dan, prices are higher than I expected too when i first got here. I've actually found the best deals on craigslist though. Check the rooms for rent section instead of apartments for rent. When renting an entire apartment it's going to be more, whether on craigslist or one of the big sites like http://www.4rentargentina.com/.

The other option is to get a broker to negotiate on your behalf, you'll pay him a fee but he can possibly negotiate a locals price for you. I know the guy behind this site personally and he seems good although I never used the service myself: http://basimplerent.com.ar/

You can tell him I referred you if you want.

Agreed Gordie, I find music without lyrics works best. (Trance/Electronic is another good option).

Hey there Brian,

Nice post!

On a separate issue, I wanted to kindly ask you if you had a suggestion for a site to search for apartments in BA? I've searched craigslist but found the prices higher than I hoped.

Thanks and keep living the good life,
Dan

Hi guys,

Unfortunately I couldn't see the video because I'm stuck behind the Great Firewall of China where Facebook book is blocked.

Anyway, I think this topic is great as I wrote a post a while back entitled "Thou Shalt Not Multi-task", which was supporting the view here that you need to focus on one thing at a time and eliminate all distractions, or at least make her go in the other room. Lol!

I would say to those that like to listen to music when working, you may want to consider the type of music you're listening to. Music with a very strong beat and singing can also be a distraction still. Accelerated learning experts warn people away from that kind of music and instead encourage people to listen to classical music, especially Mozart and Bach. I have found that you can find yourself singing along with a favourite song which means your brain is not 100% focused.

Anyway, thanks for the great post, Brian. I'll tweet this one for you.

Cheers.
