Building Yourself As a Brand

Seth GodinIt’s amazing what you can do once you have a following and you are a brand. For example, you can decide to answer some questions one day and earn $50 grand. That’s part of the reason I’m creating this blog: to build myself as a brand. Everyone should focus on building themselves as a brand.

There’s lots of marketing authors, but only one Seth Godin.
There’s lots of real estate Guru’s, but only one Trump.
There’s lots of pretty girls, but only one Paris.

Whatever it is that you do, probably plenty of other people do it as well. So if you want to earn more for an hour of your time, your name has to be worth something.

Do you have a desire to be known in your field?

    Brian,

Branding can sometimes become crucial. If you have a high quality product in a highly competitive market (a book, for example), chances are your sales won’t be expressive.

However if you have branded yourself, your product will probably sell a lot. This applies even if your product is not tangible, such as hosting a seminar.

    There is certainly validity in

So if you want to earn more for an hour of your time, your name has to be worth something.

I think to a certain extent everyone desires to ‘go where everyone knows their name.’ After all who wouldn’t like the ability to be sought after instead of seeking? With that said, I am looking to develop myself as a more credible, known, and respected person within the web design and development field. Whether that happens only time will tell, however if I can help others in the process that will be satisfying too.

    Thanks for the insight.
