Hi Brian...definitely anything more you can provide on real estate investing as a business. That's what I am striving toward in my own life. I've done some here and there over the past yr. and a half but the ultimate goal for me is to Break Free to do it. Thanks--love your ebook!

Hi Brian,
Thanks for the tip for Zen Cart. I had gone to their site before, but I had never realized that they had this feature. I spent several hours trying to figure out how to set up downloads.

I did finally get one e-book with my options setup and I was able to specifically select that option for download just as I wanted. :-) Once I figure out how to get it to automate via Paypal I'll go out and celebrate.

My next goal is to learn to write good sales/ad copy.

Hey Chris,

Check out this link which rates all the open source shopping carts out there:
http://www.opensourcecms.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=388&Itemid=184

I've used/modified Zen Cart in the past and generally liked it. Just don't underestimate the amount of time and upkeep that will be required to run your own shopping cart. I've made this mistake in the past, trying to tweak everything and make it perfect on my own site just how i want it, and it can be a huge time sink with new little bugs cropping up all the time and special cases. You get into all sorts of issues...ssl certificates, avs response codes, merchant accounts, chargebacks, fraud, etc. Make sure it's worth it, and remember that you can always get things started quickly with a simple solution (like e-junkie or paypal buy now buttons) and upgrade later. Hope that helps!

Hi Brian,
I looked at their website but it isn't quite what I'm looking for. They charge a monthly fee and everything is done on their server.
I am looking for a web program that I can install on one of my hosted accounts and allows various downloads per listing (one per format).
I don't like the idea of using a service on a separate server. I'd be dependent on them and their configuration and limitations. I didn't see it mentioned the option for selecting different downloads for the same listing. I only saw mention of multiple files as a package although perhaps it can do so.

Do you know of any other programs?

Hey Christopher, have you looked at www.e-junkie.com ?

Thats what I use for digital products, it is really simple and inexpensive and has been working well for me.

I'd like to find a store/shopping cart application for Wordpress or Joomla that would allow me to have multiple downloads for each listing by type. For example Ebook-1 in PDF is option one, LIT is option 2 all in the same book listing.

It seems that shopping cart solutions are only designed for tangible products with digital downloads as only an afterthought.
I've been wanting to open an e-book store but haven't gone beyond testing because having 4 listings for 4 formats of the same exact book looks messy to say the least.

I would also vote for more posts on passive income, especially around Internet marketing and web businesses. If you can find self made millionaires who are not a part of the IM hype machine, that would be interesting.

I agree with the other comments. Is there any way that someone who blogs as much as I do can make money doing it (in laymen's terms). I have researched this topic and it always leads to a dead end because it is way over my head.

Also, I am truly interested in having my own business and am working toward a few ideas that I have (btw, I have invested in wholesale real estate that has done very well for me). I would love to see you blog about how a person like me who has drive and motivation to work can go out on her own and just do it. Moving from the corporate world to my own business is very scary and it isn't that easy to just "do it." Any suggestions on how to PUSH myself forward to taking that big risk?
