19 May 2008Here is a little video update on the tutoring business launch. I’ve been doing all sorts of things to promote it. We’ve got enough tutors signed up in four cities now and I’ve been doing SEO, pay per click, contacting academic advisors, etc. Making progress slowly but surely…

Google seem to be making Adwords harder and harder to use. I have moved away from them for now to investigate other methods.

Caroline, what other methods are you looking at? What’s working well?

Hey Brian, nice blog! And very nice post series.
I want to ask you something about Find a Tutor:
Why the “try it free” if the homepage is designed for students? Is not always free for students? (you say it so in previous post, that you’re charging only tutors now).
So, if I’m a student, I think: “Oh, it must be a pay service..”
Cheers :-)

Hi J.P. thats a good point! That is left over from the first version of the business model and I didn’t even think about it that way. Thanks for letting me know I appreciate it!

Also, you can try some split testing for doing de homepage more appealing to Tutors (they are your income)
Just an idea :)
