Hi Dave, Yep I just looked it up. Any “creative work” which includes writing is automatically copyrighted.

I’m not sure why he was so quick to react.

Hi Caroline,

You’re right I was a little surprised that everyone was so concerned about that. I think it was because we had some lawyers in the audience and that is just how they think.

My feeling on it (which it sounds like you got) is that there are much bigger things to worry about than that, and online people will always steal your stuff if it is good. You should be flattered…they are helping you build your brand.

I think you were right about copyright being intrinsic. It used to be that you had to explicitly add the copyright symbol to your work. But now it’s implicit when you create content.
