Internet companies have a very flawed system which is based on potential rather than actual production/profits.

Amen…I think the people who valuate/invest in them have a similarly flawed model. If I’m not mistaken Twitter has yet to turn a profit and it has millions in funding behind it. Totally ridiculous. I don’t think I’d ever take venture capital money for a web business.
