I'm a college student myself and I had experience in hospital radiology assistant jobs and retail assistant, and it was given me a new perspective upon future jobs. I'm definitely interested in the business fields, but I'm not 100% certain what field I want to pursue. This year, I was not able to land the business school I wanted to enter (USC) and I will try to reapply in two years. For now, I'm trying to get as much experience in the business fields, researching, reading books, etc. Do you have any suggestions for me; to give me a broader perspective within the business world or any tasks that would give me more experience? You're right it's not enough to know what you want. You must also know WHY you want it. That can be the real motivator. In other words, don't obsess over a getting a pile of cash. I also think that the most important factor any one wanting to start a biz needs is starting and then the determination to succeed whatever the challenges are. I particularly like the illustration Brian stated(in another article)about how one should think of raising $1m if it was meant to save one's child; i think that is a major impetus. My pastor will always say that one should write down all the things one could do with a $1m and then think and write out how one can acquire it.
